How to get an English-medium instruction letter
About 10 days
Many scholarships accept a letter from your university saying your degree was taught in English, instead of an IELTS or TOEFL score. It is usually free or very cheap, so check this before paying for a test.
Where to go
The Registrar or Controller of Examinations office at the university that awarded (or is awarding) your degree.
What to ask for
A letter on university letterhead, signed and stamped, stating: - Your full name, roll or registration number and degree title - The years you studied - That the medium of instruction and examination was English
Steps
- Write a short application to the Registrar asking for the letter, with a copy of your CNIC and transcript.
- Pay the fee if there is one.
- Collect the letter. Some scholarships want it attested by HEC; see the HEC attestation guide.
Before you rely on it
Read the scholarship rules carefully. Some accept the letter only for certain countries or only if your whole degree was in English.
Typical time: 3 to 10 working days.
