How to get IBCC equivalence for O and A Levels
About 21 days
If you did O Levels or A Levels, Pakistani universities and scholarships need an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). It converts your grades to Matric and Intermediate marks.
Steps
- Register on the IBCC portal (ibcc.edu.pk) and fill the equivalence form.
- Upload your O Level and A Level statements of results, CNIC or B-Form, and a photograph.
- Pay the fee through the generated challan (about PKR 2,000 to 3,000).
- Send original result statements by courier or visit an IBCC office (Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta) with a booked appointment.
- The certificate is issued after verification with Cambridge or the awarding body.
Tips
- Apply for Matric equivalence (O Levels) as soon as your results arrive; do not wait for A Levels.
- A Level equivalence needs at least 8 O Level subjects and 3 A Level subjects for most streams; check the IBCC subject rules for pre-medical and pre-engineering.
Typical time: 2 to 3 weeks after documents reach IBCC.
