How to get an income certificate
About 14 days
An income certificate states your family's monthly income. Most need-based scholarships in Pakistan ask for it.
Where to go
- Salaried parent: the employer's HR or accounts office issues a salary certificate on letterhead.
- Self-employed or daily wage: the local Union Council, Tehsil office, or a Grade 17+ gazetted officer issues an affidavit-based income certificate.
- Some universities accept an affidavit on PKR 100 stamp paper attested by an oath commissioner.
What to bring
- Father's or guardian's CNIC copy
- Your CNIC or B-Form copy
- Latest utility bill (proof of address)
- Salary slip, if any
Steps
- Ask the scholarship office which format they accept; many post a sample form.
- Fill the form and get it signed and stamped.
- Keep two attested photocopies. Scholarships often ask for the original at verification.
Typical time: 3 to 14 days. Start early because offices close around public holidays.
