How to reach 16 years of education

About 730 days

Most Master's scholarships, in Pakistan and abroad, ask for 16 years of education. A 2-year BA or BSc (or an Associate Degree) gives you 14 years.

Your options

  • Continue into a BS: Associate Degree holders can usually join a 4-year BS programme in the 5th semester and finish in about 2 more years.
  • A 2-year Master's (MA/MSc/MCom): where still offered, this brings you to 16 years.
  • Check equivalence: if you studied abroad, IBCC or HEC can tell you how many years your degree counts as.

Plan it

  1. Ask universities near you which bridging route they accept for your degree.
  2. While you study, build the rest of your profile: English test, recommendation letters and work or volunteering.
  3. Keep your CGPA up. Many scholarships want 3.0 or more.

Good to know

Need-based scholarships (HEC Need-Based, provincial endowment funds) can help pay for the extra 2 years. Check HerPath for undergraduate scholarships while you complete your degree.

Typical time: about 2 years.
