Full tuition, a maintenance allowance (GBP 22,050 a year at the 2025-26 rate), economy airfare at the start and end, and UK visa and health surcharge costs.
Who it's for
Citizens of any country outside the UK applying to a full-time postgraduate course at Cambridge. Selection looks at intellectual ability, reasons for the course, commitment to improving others' lives and leadership. About 55 awards go to non-US international students each year.

Choose your Cambridge course and check its deadline (8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027 for non-US applicants).

Apply for admission through the Cambridge postgraduate application and tick the Gates Cambridge box.

Write the Gates Cambridge statement and arrange references.

Shortlisted candidates are interviewed.
